Who are we looking for?
BlockTech is a high-paced algorithmic trading firm facilitating global decentralised trading in cryptocurrency derivatives while expanding to regulated markets. We are growing like never before and we are looking for an Chief of Staff who wants to join us in this exciting scale-up phase!
What will you do?
As a hands-on project manager, you’ll collaborate with technical departmental teams to define the yearly roadmap, while focusing on planning, structuring, and overseeing major projects. While the primary focus is on operational topics, your role will also extend to areas such as Business Development, HR, Risk, Finance. You’ll keep a close eye on departmental operations and regularly discuss findings with the Management Team (MT), particularly the CEO.
Your responsibilities include making informed decisions based on your observations from projects, reports, meetings, and your own analyses. You'll be deeply involved in company-wide operations, from addressing major strategic issues to driving operationalisation and professionalisation efforts. This requires a strong ability to maintain an overview of the big picture while seamlessly shifting between operational, business, strategic, and tactical topics.

You’ll have the autonomy to tackle diverse subjects and take ownership. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills rapidly by working closely with the CEO and other MT members.
Typical responsibilities include (But are not limited to):
Creating progress reports on projects to ensure a comprehensive overview of ongoing work and identifying bottlenecks. We expect you to enhance efficiency by refining workflows and observing current dynamics.
Structuring teams in terms of goals, responsibilities, and purpose, not just within individual teams but also considering cross-team dynamics. We expect you to take ownership of tracking key KPIs and displaying them in an inspiring and attractive way.
Taking full responsibility for our WBSO application, including communication with external advisors and ensuring internal commitment and proper monitoring.
Assisting the CEO with various projects that require a structured approach to achieve successful outcomes. For example:
Preparing a thorough analysis of the current compensation structure to assess the impact of potential changes.
Developing tools or templates for seamless execution of mid-year and end-of-year reviews.
Providing oversight on specific technical projects where clarity is needed, such as creating an accessible overview of the project’s current state, transition phase, and desired end state.
Managing and steering larger projects, coordinating various teams to achieve set goals within a reasonable timeframe.

Job requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience within a multi-timezone software company. Experience in the trading domain is a big plus
- A technical/quantitative academic degree
- Strong strategic thinking and project management skills
- Analytical and tech-savvy with a focus on automation of tasks and processes
- Experience with Scrum and Jira
- Experience with SQL and/or Python is a plus
- A positive, entrepreneurial spirit and a creative mindset
- A genuine interest in financial markets
- Willingness to commit long-term
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
